Who cares for the caregiver?
During my 25-year career as a Social Worker, I had the privilege of working across diverse settings, gaining a rare look into the interior lives of people from all walks of life. From juvenile correctional officers to kinship care providers, a recurring theme consistently emerged: deeply committed, yet profoundly overworked, overwhelmed, and burned-out people providing care.
My time as a School Social Worker brought the heavy burdens of caregiving into sharp focus. Between overworked staff, exhausted parents, and strained community support providers, I often found myself spending more time supporting the adults than working directly with the students.
Both personally and professionally, I have seen the heavy toll that a "labor of love" can take. I often think of the dedicated medical staff who oversaw my care during pregnancy/deliveries, the unrelenting vigilance required from parents of medically complex children on my caseload, and the family members I've watched quietly & meticulously caring for our aging family members & new born loved ones alike. All care is a labor of love—but it is labor nonetheless, and it exacts a toll.
Throughout the years, a central question drove my work: "Who cares for the caregiver?"
"Where does a parent turn when their world is upended by a child’s chronic illness or developmental diagnosis—and the sudden, overwhelming reality of 24/7 care?"
"Who holds space for the spouse navigating the profound grief and exhaustion of becoming a full-time caregiver to their own partner?"
"Who supports the helping professionals—our nurses, first responders, and school leaders—as they navigate the secondary trauma and intense daily stressors of their roles?"
After retiring from the school system in 2024, I knew my mission to support others wasn't finished—I just needed to do it in a way that kept me healthy and whole. I decided to take my decades of experience and build a dedicated, safe space for caregivers to lay their burdens down with someone who truly understands.
So welcome to my new practice supporting caregivers via telehealth in New Jersey. I also offer in-person professional development workshops for groups—particularly educators—focusing on wellness, burnout prevention, and moving "Beyond Self-Care" for helping professionals.

🏫 Real Wellness for Real Schools: Burnout Prevention from Someone Who’s Been There
Most professional development talks about wellness from the outside looking in. As someone who has worked in the trenches for 25 years both as a School Social Worker & a CST Supervisor, I get the weight of the daily grind, the state mandates, and the hidden pressure of education in New Jersey.
My interactive, in-person workshops cut through the fluff to deliver practical burnout prevention, stress-regulation tools, and cultural shifts that your team can actually use. Designed to align with your district’s professional learning goals and state educator standards, these sessions give your teachers and administrators the breath of fresh air—and the required hours—they actually deserve.
